Dine Happy CT is built to collect as little as possible. You can browse without an account; signing in with Google is optional.

Accounts (optional)

If you sign in with Google, we store your account id, email, and name from Google so we can sync favorites and send the alerts you turn on. If you enable text alerts, we also store the mobile number you enter. We do not post to Google on your behalf. Sign out anytime from Account.

Favorites

Saved bars stay in this browser (localStorage) when you are signed out. After you sign in, favorites sync to your account so they follow you across devices.

Location

“Find bars near me” uses the browser geolocation API after you tap the button. Coordinates are used in the page to sort by distance and are never sent to our servers.

Forms

Suggest a Bar, Report incorrect info, and Submit an Idea send the fields you type. I own a bar sends your name, phone, email, and the restaurant so we can confirm you run it. Each form also includes a hidden anti-spam check. We store those so we can follow up, and we do not use them for ads.

Votes

Group polls (when enabled) store a random device id from localStorage with each vote so one device gets one vote per poll. Optional display names are whatever you type.

Email, text alerts & newsletter

Account email alerts use the Google email on your account and only the digests you enable. Text alerts use the US mobile number you provide. You can add that number before you sign in. Signing in attaches it to your account, where you can clear it. Separate newsletter signup stores the email you enter so we can send occasional deal updates. We do not sell these lists.

Analytics

The site records a single anonymous session count per browser tab each day so the operator daily email can include visitor volume. It does not store your IP, device id, or what you searched. If a privacy-friendly analytics tool is added later, it will run without ad pixels and without a marketing cookie banner.
